The Continued & Increased Success of Southern New England Chapter of
the Soil and Water Conservation Society

Recruit New Members

Offer discounted membership at meetings

Target non-traditional members

Develop, in partnership with other societies
and organizations, a "new employee" packet of society brochures

Each existing SNEC-SWCS member will recruit
a new member

Retain Active Members

Survey members re:/ interests for meeting
topics & willingness to help out

Encourage mentoring between BoD members
and non-active, but willing, members

Establish "To Do" list and ways to get involved
for interested members

Develop and send out a "new member" packet

Regain Lost Members

Utilize database from Ankeny to contact
recent dropped members directly

Use postcards as direct contact from Chapter
to dropped members to determine reason for discontinuing membership

Develop Partnerships

Send Newsletters to partners

Use e-mail to contact partners

Survey partners for needs and how SWCS can
fit their activities

Involve at least one partner in every meeting
/ conference

Fundraising

Solicit sponsors for chapter newsletter

Re-establish newsletter subscriptions

Student Chapter Development

Assist with development of Student Chapters
in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

Create a scholarship to pay the first year
of membership to SWCS for any graduating senior who was a student member
and will remain in the SNEC

Develop Membership Database

Utilize Ankeny’s Y2K database – when available

Make database available to partners
